THIS IS AN IEC STYLE STARTER AND REQUIRES NO HEATER ELEMENTS.

THIS STARTER COMES EQUIPPED WITH AN AMPERAGE DIAL. SIMPLY TURN THE DIAL TO YOUR REQUIRED AMPS FOR YOUR APPLICATION. THE AMP DIAL RANGE IS BETWEEN 32 -48 AMPS.

ALSO COMES WITH BUILT IN SIDE MOUNTED AUXILIARY CONTACTS. NORMALLY OPEN & NORMALLY CLOSED TYPE.

STARTER COMES COMPLETE IN A NEMA 1 STYLE  ENCLOSURE, IN ADDITION TO 4 PUNCH OUTS FOR INCOMING AND OUTGOING WIRES. MANUFACTURER HAS SUPPLIED 4 RUBBER GROMMETS FOR WIRE PROTECTION.

WHAT IS AN IEC ( International Electrotechnical Commission) MAGNETIC STARTER & WHAT PURPOSE DOES IT SERVE?

A motor starter is for the purpose of protecting a motor that has no thermal overload protection in the motor itself. Motor starters are typically for 3 phase larger motors. The starter consists of two devices, a contactor that completes the circuit to the motor and an overload relay that monitors the current the motor is drawing.The electronic type of overload relay monitors the current of the motor through inductive current transformers. Each leg of the motor passes through a current transformer built into the overload relay where an electronic circuit monitors the current draw of the motor and trips the relay if the motor draws more than the amperage setting of the adjustable dial on the relay which is set to the full load amperage of the motor.
